The Tastiest Lemonade in the World

Most lemonade recipes are for a single glass - that's a lot of work for one sip. Today we're making real lemonade syrup from fresh lemons, so every time you crave lemonade you can pour, mix, and drink. Once it's ready, you can enjoy cold lemonade at home or even set up a lemonade stand for neighbors and friends.

What you'll need of this activity:

A glass of lemonade with a lemon slice floating in it

Squeeze the Lemons

Squeeze all the lemons using a juicer or by hand over a strainer. If it’s hard, ask someone in the family for help.

Measure Juice and Sugar

For each cup of juice, add three-quarters of a cup of sugar. Measure and add to the pot.

Make Sugar Syrup

Ask an adult to help – heat all the juice and sugar in a small pot, stirring well until the sugar dissolves. When you see no sugar lumps, turn off the heat and let it cool for a few minutes.

Pour Syrup into Glass Bottle

Set the syrup aside to cool. You can put a few mint leaves inside for a few minutes. After it cools, remove the mint leaves and pour into a glass bottle.

Serve and Enjoy

Add a little syrup to a glass, pour in cold water, stir, and... the lemonade is ready!

Lemonade Stand

Now all that’s left is to open a lemonade stand, sell to neighbors and friends, find a serious investor, hire employees, open an office with a lemon logo on the door, and become the world’s biggest lemonade empire.
