The Anger Iceberg works best when a child is calm — not mid-meltdown. Use it after a difficult moment, or simply as a conversation starter at a relaxed time. Ask your child: "Have you ever felt any of these feelings?" and let them lead the conversation.
Print it out and sit together during a calm moment. Ask your child to point to or circle any feelings they recognise. Use the iceberg as a springboard for deeper conversation — you don't need to have all the answers. Simply listening and validating their feelings is enough.
